Mrs Jill Walker
Position: Headmistress
Qualifications: BSc (Hons), PGCE, MA Ed
Mrs Walker joined Maltman’s Green in September 2020 from St Nicholas Prep School in South Kensington where she was headmistress, and before that was Deputy Head at Glendower Prep, a top girls’ school in London. She has a master’s degree in Education and is an experienced ISI Inspector. Mrs Walker has had a varied and interesting career having started as a nurse with experiences as far ranging as community nursing in South West London to being a director of health clinics in Kenya, where after having been a house parent for girl boarders she decided on a change of career on her return to the UK. Jill has three children and her husband is Headmaster of a leading boys’ prep school in Hertfordshire. Read the Head’s Welcome here.
Mr Timothy Paramour
Mr Paramour has held senior leadership positions at a range of schools in both the independent and maintained sectors. He joined Maltman’s Green in September 2025 from Bancroft’s Prep School in North-East London. He is a published author, having co-authored two titles for Bloomsbury Education: The Grammar Book and The Writing Book. He has an undergraduate degree in Philosophy and a Masters degree in Medieval History. He takes a pragmatic, evidence-informed approach to teaching and learning and he is passionate about developing the girls’ critical thinking and debating skills. As well as writing and history, Mr Paramour’s interests include football, walking, baking, canoeing and travelling.
Mrs Rachel Gaynor
Mrs Gaynor was Head of Early Years here before becoming Deputy Head in September 2019. She successfully launched our Little Malties day care facility and has driven an individualised approach to learning in the Early Years where every child works at their own pace and is stretched and challenged within a safe and nurturing environment. Mrs Gaynor continues to implement initiatives that give these very youngest of our girls the best possible start to their early education. Mrs Gaynor has a PGCE and hands-on experience teaching KS2, Nursery and Reception. Before joining Maltman’s Green she held the post of Head of Early Years at Northwood College.
Mrs Jackie Stevens
Mrs Stevens graduated with a Bsc Social Research degree from London Metropolitan University and worked as an assistant auditor for the National Audit Office. She moved into local government and focused on the business development of the early education and childcare sectors within the boroughs of Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham and Westminster. She moved into school business management in 2019, working for the Danes Educational Trust, before taking up the position of Bursar at Lockers Park, a boys Prep and Boarding School in Hertfordshire. Mrs Stevens is married with one teenage daughter and in her spare time enjoys rambling and is an avid movie and theatre goer.
Ms Emma Button
Ms Button’s teaching career spans 17 years and covers Early Years to KS2. Prior to starting at Maltman’s Green in December 2020 she was Head of Pre-Prep and educational consultant at Wellington College International, Shanghai, for over five years, and before that was an assistant head and head of Early Years in her home city of Leicester. Ms Button defines education as the key that unlocks doors and enjoys working closely with parents to ensure the educational journey is both positive and successful. With a degree in design and a Masters in history, Ms Button is a keen advocate of the Arts and this extends to her life beyond school where she takes every opportunity to be creative. She is also a keen traveller and enjoys visiting new destinations.
Mrs Elizabeth Ullstein

Mrs Lisa Gill
Mrs Gill graduated with a degree in Pharmacology and began her career working for 10 years in sales, marketing and management in the pharmaceutical industry. Following the birth of her three children, Mrs Gill re trained as a Photographer, running her own studio and photographing weddings at the many prestigious venues across Buckinghamshire and London. Prior to starting at Maltman’s she co-founded a tech start up, working as CEO and propelling the business to be the leading software company in its sector in the UK. She brings to Maltman’s extensive commercial experience and a love of photography that she is able to enjoy daily photographing our Maltman’s girls.
Mrs Katherine Day
Katherine joined Maltman’s Green in 2010 and became Registrar and the Head’s PA following a short period in another role. Katherine previously enjoyed a career in London, working for a firm of Strategy Consultants, most latterly as Graduate Recruitment Manager.
Katherine is a keen runner, and combines her family life with training for her next race.
